This workshop teaches you the art of reduction printmaking with linoleum. Based on an image that you bring to the workshop you will be guided through the process by experienced art teacher and printmaker, Pernille Sand. Each participant works at their own pace and level. You will go home with a big smile on your face and your own little edition of 5-8 prints. Possibly also with an addiction to printmaking :-) The image on this page is for illustration and you will each create your own original prints based on an image you bring from home. Here's some guidance on what type of image to bring to the workshop: -Think about the number of colors the image will have. There should be max. 3 besides white. 2 colors is best. -Choose an image that is very clear and doesn't have too many tiny details. You will make 5-8 prints of this image. -The size of the image: max. 15x21 cm / 6x8 inches. You will print the image on A4-sized paper. -If you bring a computer printed image from home it should be mirrored as what you draw and carve into the lino block will be mirrored in your print. You can choose to print a mirrored image from your computer or bring a drawing. Just remember that your lino print will be mirrored of the image/drawing you bring (you can scan it and mirror it on your computer). The image you bring can be either a color image or B/W. Note: If you are not sure how to print your image mirrored, save your image on your phone and we can use my printer and print it on the day. Breakdown of the workshop: This workshop is a two day experience (typically over a weekend). -Day one (5 hours on Saturday, 10:00-15:00): you will transfer your image to the linoleum, prepare your system for registration and carve for and print the first color. -Day two (5 hours on Sunday, 10:00-15:00): you will carve for the second color and print it.
