Om Oplevelsen
Niveau: begynder
Slags: workshop
Watercolours are so calming and mesmerising to paint with and I can’t wait to introduce you to the spontaneity and magic of creating with this medium.
In this 2 hour workshop, I’ll guide you through the most useful tips, tricks and methods that I wish I had known when I first started out with watercolours. You’ll then put what you’ve learnt into practice by creating your own beautiful, abstract artwork using wet on wet techniques, inspired by the organic beauty and colours of nature.
Max 8 guests, so make sure to secure your spot!
This workshop will be led in English.
What you’ll learn:
Tips on set up - Setting up well for watercolours is crucial to enjoying the process and getting the most out of your materials. I’ll be sharing my tips for the ideal set up for a beginner watercolour artist - which will save you a lot of time, money and confusion when buying your own materials in the future.
Water to paint ratio - One of the hardest things to master with watercolours is water to paint ratio. I will introduce you to an incredibly useful exercise, which will give you a feel for understanding water to paint ratio and save yourself a lot of failed attempts and frustration for future watercolour practice.
Brush control - Learn how to get the most out of your brush through practicing different brush holds, strokes and mark making.
Watercolour techniques - I’ll introduce you to essential watercolour techniques that bring texture, versatility and dimension to your artwork. Through experimenting with the calming techniques of wet on wet and the precision of wet on dry technique, you will learn how to make the water your friend and not an unpredictable foe.
A brief intro into colour mixing and theory - We will dip our toes into the world of colour to learn how to create harmony when combining different tones on the colour wheel. You will also practice how to mix gorgeous and unique colours with a limited palette.
Creating your own artwork - In the second half of the session, you will put all your experimentation and learning into practice by creating your own beautiful watercolour artwork on high quality watercolour paper.
