Join me this winter for a cosy and calming evening painting festive wreaths in watercolours!
There is something so special about nature’s colour palette at this time of year. Step outside into your local park and you’ll notice dreamy faded tones, with the occasional pop of deep red, purple or orange. In this 2.5 hour workshop, we’ll be capturing the magic of winter by creating our own seasonal watercolour wreath. I’ll guide you every step of the way through demos, hands-on practice, sketching your composition and finally, painting your own wonderful wreath!
Max 8 guests, so make sure to secure your spot!
This workshop will be led in English.
What you’ll learn:
Practicing botanical shapes - I’ll show you how to get the most out of your brush, from feather light details to juicy washes of colour. You’ll practice painting different flora and fauna, such as leaves, twigs, pine needles, berries and birds.
Colour palette - Learn how to create a beautiful and harmonious winter colour palette and experiment with shimmering metallic watercolours for delicate gold details!
Composition, depth and harmony - Explore how to layer botanical elements to create flow and depth using techniques like wet on wet and glazing. I’ll show you how I structure and layer different botanical shapes to create flow and visual harmony. You’ll then sketch and plan your own composition, by choosing from the different botanical shapes we practiced.
Painting your wreath - With new skills and confidence, you'll paint your own beautiful winter wreath! I'll be there to support you and there will be lots of visual inspiration to guide you, from my own painting examples, to seasonal foraged objects like hawthorn berries and pine cones.
